FORGOT YOUR DETAILS?

It’s hard to cross the line when it is being erased

Line in the Sand

We are seeing a collective awakening in America to a simple fact. When you do not base your system of government on a single standard of morality, you have no standard for morality that can be fairly enforced by law. Instead, you will have mob rule democracy instead of rule by a republic.

…ultimately, in a vacuum of moral absolutes, law can have no absolute power.

There is a reason that most of us seek or at least seem vaguely aware of a “higher power”. When you have two opposing ideas, concepts or rules being argued between two individuals or groups, who decides right or wrong? There has to be a disinterested third party to fairly decide the outcome. Otherwise the two can go back and forth with no solution. One can only win if they get one more person to agree with them and strong-arm the minority stance. The other counters with two extra people. Then the other counters with four and so on.

In religion, the higher authority is God. I mean, if God rules, that’s it. Case settled. But what if you don’t believe in God? Where does a society go to settle a dispute? The answer is, the law, and if it is a democracy, some sort of Constitution. A law in its simplest definition is an agreed upon limitation of human behavior between humans and their society. But once again we run into a dilemma. Who writes the article of law to begin with? By what moral authority?

The 234 year old Constitution controls rights and personal limitations that were influenced by Biblical rules of liberty.

America was founded upon Christian principles. No, not all the founding fathers – and mothers– were Bible touting Christians. But what was true in 1776 is still true today. The principles that our United States Constitution promote are powerful. They align with what most of us accept as “common sense” and “common decency”. America is still the largest philanthropical source of goodwill and assistance in the history of mankind.

The 234 year old Constitution controls rights and personal limitations that were influenced by Biblical rules of liberty. Rules that the Bible sets for humanity. Rules, the Bible professes, and over two billion Christians and fourteen million Jews agree, to be set by God. We all may not follow the Bible to the letter, well,  hypocrites do, but most at least acknowledge it is a book that is intended to be followed. We are all good at heart right?

The core laws that inspired this nation were inspired by the core laws of the Christian Bible.

The core laws that inspired this nation were inspired by the core laws of the Christian Bible. This simple book of paper still is the world’s most printed, if not most controversial, book of law. Could our founding fathers ever conceive of a day that a country that was erected on religious freedom to worship God, would one day, dismantle that same freedom, and rename  it hate-speech against the country? Amazingly, the founding fathers did conceive of that day. In fact, I believe they knew it would come.

Why does the political left seek to abolish Biblical, traditional Christian values from our system of justice, and social law?

Ideally, we, as morally inclined sentient beings, would hold the Bible in one hand and the Constitution in the other, when justice was metered against our fellow citizens. The genius of the United State Constitution, is that, it had to account for the simple fact that freedom not only encourages powerful human accomplishments for good, it also allows for ultimate human rebellion and contempt for life itself.

Unfortunately, the only checks and balances that our founding documents established still require that they be metered with integrity and character as defined by principles we all associate with traditional Biblical values. Otherwise, our own system of justice can be wielded as a weapon upon those it was mean to serve and protect.

Why does the political left seek to abolish Biblical, traditional Christian values from our system of justice, and social law? Because once we remove a higher authority from the mediation, mob rule can take over. Unrestrained power is the target goal of the powerful elite in government and corporate America. It starts with our daycare, schools, colleges and libraries. An agenda of indoctrination. Change the thoughts of today’s youth, and you control the adults of tomorrow.

Judeo-Christian values are no longer considered when metering justice. Hedonism and humanism and socialism are the religions of the new millennium.

Teach our children that life begins with a mother’s choice in determining that a fetus is human. Otherwise, it is just tissue that can be flushed from the body with salt water poison. Murder, is removing a salmon from a river with a hook. Teach the children that personal expression must align with prevailing political policy. Teach children that violence is anything that inhibits personal expression.

Ultimately, think like the state, live for and receive support from, the state. Freedom of expression is permitted so long as it aligns with state policy. Otherwise, it is criminal hate-speech and intolerance. Judeo-Christian values are no longer considered when metering justice. Hedonism and humanism and socialism are the religions of the new millennium.

Once we have a line without ruled markings on it, we no longer can measure ourselves. Once we no longer can measure ourselves, we will not have the right to measure our neighbor.

But ultimately, in a vacuum of moral absolutes, law can have no absolute power. Without a moral guideline to adhere to, your definition of robbery is different than mine if I have to feed my family. Your definition of murder is different than mine if I consider conception the beginning of human existence. Your definition of poverty is different than mine if I consider an Apple iPhone a necessity – an expression of social equality.

Once we have a line without ruled markings on it, we no longer can measure ourselves. Once we no longer can measure ourselves, we will not have the right to measure our neighbor. We now live in that time where the only absolute is personal entitlement to pleasure. Once we as a entitlement society are oppressed long enough by a system of government that keep promising more entitlements, but fails to give them, we will revolt. Not against government, but against each other. Taking from those who are in possession of that which we are entitled to have in order to equalize our social standing.

Many today are tirelessly fighting a battle to keep that moral line in place. That line is the final battle for America’s soul. It is the cornerstone of this nation. America is the symbolic cornerstone of liberty for this world. If the moral line is completely erased, so is America. So will the light of a chance for freedom and liberty for all who are oppressed around the world.
